Background:
Native New Mexican. Served twenty-six years in the U.S. Army. Traveled abroad, love the outdoors, and currently reside in Albuquerque, NM.
College degree(s): Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (BA), concentration in Management, the College of Santa Fe; Master of Science, Security Administration (MSSA), Southwestern College Professional Studies, Winfield KS. University of Notre Dame, Certificate in Executive Leadership. Multiple military courses of study.

Athletic Background:

1981 United States Amateur Athletic Union – Junior Olympian, (AAU) Junior Olympic Regionals (100m, 200m).

Sports throughout middle and high school: Football, basketball & track.

1984-1987 State Track Championships (400m, 400m relay, 1600m relay).

Competitor in multiple, Annual Bataan Memorial Death March commemoration competitions at White Sands Missile Range, NM. Member of the winning team (new course record) in 1998 – Published story in Army Times Magazine.

Competed in several military endurance events, additionally earning the Army Physical Fitness Badge of Excellence, awarded annually to recognize excellence in physical fitness.

Competitor in multiple 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon, quadrathan, and 55k ultra-marathon races.

Top age group finisher in the Alcatraz Challenge (swam from Alcatraz across the San Francisco Bay to shore followed by a 6 mile run across the Golden Gate bridge).

Over 16 years of competing in all triathlon distances (Sprint, Olympic, half Ironman 70.3 and full Ironman 140.6).

Member of Black Dog Triathlon Team – Served as Event Committee Member 2011-2014.

Qualifier of USAT 2014 Nationals and 2014 - Ironman All World Athlete (AWA-Bronze).

Coaching goals: I approach coaching as a means to working with athletes of all ability levels in developing their individual talents to excel in all elements of fitness. The application of versatile methods to increase stamina, agility, strength, power, and mental toughness are my number one goal in order to assist athletes achieve their aspirations. Furthermore, instilling passion to meet race designated fitness goals or personal challenges is equally important.
